20-Minute Heart-Centered Meditation For Moms Experiencing A Holiday Shitstorm
If Thanksgiving was emotionally tough then try this mediation in a dimly lit room for 20-minutes to feel more capable of handling anything
Do you ever journal? You can learn a lot about yourself just by writing. Recently, I realized during a journaling exercise, that I was born into a chaotic family. Perhaps, you were too? Quite possibly, this Thanksgiving, you were reminded of the chaos. Were you? In my early years, I didn’t know what meditating was nor that it could help even during a chaotic moment. In my family, we turned to prayers. Several of them desperate requests during tough times. Yet, in my case even as a little girl, somehow, as if instinctively, I knew how to calm myself or “be the calm” that was needed given the moment. In my early years, as a little girl, I actually stumbled upon meditation. I was rather contemplative, shy, and an only child until I was 14. Ultimately, I knew to be still and quiet, to figure quite a lot of shit out on my own, and get to a place where I could take adult-level actions in a calm state quickly. This brings me to this guided 20-minute meditation for moms who might feel as if they are in a shitstorm of any kind.
As a student in Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s meditation teacher certification program, I’ve decided that while I’m still learning the fundamentals of meditating….right now today I am qualified enough to bring what has already worked for me to you. You can’t wait for me to get my certification in 2025? You may have just spent Thanksgiving dinner holding your tongue because some family member berated you. You might have been laid off last week and are in panic mode. Who knows what your shitstorm might look like? Either way, I want to help you where you are and in the state in which you find yourself today. Do you know why? You are a mom. Time doesn’t pause for us. It hasn’t slowed down for me. As a matter of a fact, once Thanksgiving is over it often feels like everything picks up the pace. Hence, I want to invite you to take the next twenty minutes to listen and do this 20-minute heart-centered calming meditation for overwhelmed moms in the midst of a shitstorm. It’s from my calm state for a mom during the holidays to you.

This book is about getting in touch with your creative, playful, imaginative side. The part of yourself that perhaps felt freer before you became a parent before you chose your identity and had a lot of responsibilities weighing you down. In helping you get in touch with your more playful, creative self, it not only helps you on a path toward greater happiness and fulfillment, but it also helps you to feel more fulfilled as a parent. – Mom/Librarian
The words: imagination, play, and fun are not the usual things we as mothers think of when wondering how to get a grip back on our career and I believe it provides a really fresh take and lots of food for thought for mothers reading it. I think that the tone is so energetic and fresh that it is why I would pick it up. – Mom/Positive Psychology Coach
